WACSAD
The West African Council for Sustainable Rural Agriculture Development (WACSAD) is a regional non-profit organization founded November 2023 and accredited by the State of Minnesota, March 2024. WACSAD is committed to promoting sustainable rural agriculture practices in the USA, Liberia and across West Africa.
WACSAD also aimed at addressing food security challenges in developing countries particularly in the West African context. West Africa with its rich agricultural potential and its commitment to sustainable development, presents an ideal setting for collaborative agriculture initiatives to address these challenges faced by the rural poor. Through collaboration with governments, NGOs, farmers and associations, and international partners, WACSAD seeks to facilitate knowledge exchange, capacity building, and policy advocacy to foster sustainable rural agriculture development for better livelihoods.
In the world facing numerous challenges, sustainable development has become a global imperative. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as set forth by the United Nations provides for a comprehensive roadmap for addressing Humanity’s most pressing issues, among these goals, Goal 2-zero hunger and Goal 12, responsible consumption, stands as pillar for the world in which food security and sustainable agriculture development are paramount.
